I live for winter and snow. My husband is now resigned to the fact that a loom belongs in the living room, not a spare bedroom. I like to listen to Schubert and Bach while I weave. Hemstitching intimidates me.

These are gorgeous, Karen! I've been taking a break from weaving to revisit some other hobbies but you (and the new Handwoven that's been languishing in my mailbox for an untold amount of time) have got me inspired again.
You could always felt it a bit and then use it as accent strips in a rag rug.... :-) I know lots of girls who love pink and black for accent colors!

I love this draft. It has lots of long floats in warp and weft, but this particular weft yarn is very sticky (I wouldn't even TRY to put it in a boat shuttle) and so it holds it together quite well. I don't know that I would want to try it with smoother weft without throwing in tabby shots.
I'd love to claim credit for the color gradation, but that's all in the weft yarn too: Lion Brand Amazing. This particular colorway is called Olympia and I quite like it for gifts for guys, since it doesn't come out looking remotely frou-frou or too "crafty". :-)
