Yes, the 5/2 was mercerized and the 6/2 is unmercerized.
Sampling is probably the best solution. Thank you for your comments~~I didn't realize that there would be a difference in the "fluffiness" between merc. and unmerc., but it makes a lot of sense now that you mentioned it.
