About me

The state/province section on this form doesn't have Otago - drat! I'm in the south of New Zealand in the city of Dunedin, about 110,000 people, main industry education with university, polytechnic, medical amd dental schools. And also Cadbury chocolate factory.

I like fiddly stuff. As I don't dressmake I haven't gotten into lengths of good usable cloth; just some scarves and wraps. otherwise I experiment with double weaves and so on, and narrow pieces just for fun. Tablet weaving comes into this too.

Of course we use a lot of wool here, but also alpaca is strong and our own lovely soft possum. I like cotton too for weaving; linen is lovely in other peole's hands, but fights back when I try it. I just love silk but am a bit nervous about it - must be braver. Tencel's good too.

I've been on the knitters' Ravelry for som time and am rapt that this weavers' equivalent has started. Many thanks to those who have put in the hard work.
