- About me
I enjoy trying to convince my looms that wire and straw are really yarn. I also love to weave linen. I don't really remember when I learned to weave, my grandmother and mother were both weavers, and there were always looms around. My great-grandfather was a dye-master, and I think I got some of his color sense. I live and weave in a 1897 Victorian in Austin, Texas with my high schooler son and linguist husband-- and make the occasional summer weaving excursion to Sätergläntan in Sweden. I'm a recovering Landscape Architect (long story) with a degree from UC Berkeley. I've been involved with Weavolution since the Alpha testing, and really enjoy my time with it. I moderate 'Wire Sticks and Straw' ,
'eTextiles' and 'Textile Texans' on Weavolution and am past Vice President, currently Secretary, of the Weavers and Spinners Society of Austin, my local guild. But enough about me…- I am a teacher
- I teach
Beginning and rigid heddle weaving, traditional Swedish warping techniques, weaving with wire, straw, eTextiles.
