Thank you all for your input. I made it about 24 heddles before I went slightly nuts and cut them all apart. I don't have the dexterity that developes with new skills yet to allow me keep them daisy-chained.
I've only done one real project and I found the treadling really awkward. I had all 6 tied in different configurations but only need two for a simple weave and as such ended up with several occasions where the weave is not what I wanted it to be. So leaving them sitting on the floor is good news. I also restrung the whole loom with Texsovle heddles and cord and that should make tie up a lot easier. thanks .
