- About me
I have been a fiber guy all of my life. From learning to knit when I was 12 to crocheting at 18, it was the study of genealogy that led me to a connection with my Norwegian roots and weaving. I was going to learn quilting because I am attracted to blankets and bed coverings, but I learned that piecework did not satisfy my need to work with yarns and fibers. So, despite living in a 500 sq. ft. apartment, I jumped a the chance to buy a Glimåkra standard in 2003. I started ScanWeave a Yahoo! group focused on the Scandinavian weaving traditions, the same year, and I taught myself to do basic weaving.
Seven years later, I am in a bigger home and have added a Lillstina table loom to my collection, but I still consider myself a beginning weaver. Graduate school and full-time work made for little weaving time, but now I am back at my looms and learning more each day.
My dream project would be to weave a skillbragd coverlet for my bed.
