- About me
I was a knitter first and often went to a weaving store in Salt Lake City to look at their yarn. I would listen to the weaver's talk to each other with a mysterious language which made no sense to me - but I was fascinated with their passion for weaving. After moving to Oklahoma, I bought a drop spindle and fleece and was immediately hooked into spinning. Several months later, I built a small frame loom and began the process of teaching myself to weave. From basic tapestry weaving I moved into Navajo style weaving. I purchased an 8-harness Baby Wolf loom in Jan. 1994 and now have an assortment of floor and table looms.
I didn't know any fellow weavers until 1999 when I learned of a guild near where I lived in SW Chicagoland and attended a workshop - with a nursing baby in a backpack. My weaving skills really took off once I began interacting with fellow weavers and I was exposed to a wide variety of yarns, weaving patterns and projects. I am currently a member of The Whatcom Weaver's Guild.
