About me

My name is Anja, I'm in my 40s and I love handling yarns and fabrics. In my childhood, I learned knitting, later I came to sewing and some time ago I discovered spinning and weaving.
But my concern is not only the crafts aspect. I also have a focus on the shamanic possibilities of these techniques. Especially spinning and weaving have always been part of a female shamanism that was lost in our culture a long time ago. Doing woven power-items, I try to resurrect this tradition, discover our own roots and take up the shamanic knowledge of our ancesters.

My shamanic weavings, being only plain weave, mostly have simple or even none pattern, because awareness and careful work is more important for the items function than the pure look. Nevertheless, I want to improve my artistic side of weaving and therefore I am checking out many different weaving techniques in order to find the most suitable for me and specialize in it.
