- About me
I am one half of Alba Ranch. Melisa, that's me, is the Fiber Freak. Charlie is the fine arts person, although I do some photography and painting.
I have lived in Scotland and Peru. Scotland is where I learned to spin and first started weaving with a peg loom. I taught myself how to weave with a rigid heddle loom in Nov 2008. I plan to learn to weave with my inkle and Frame looms, more than likely in a Navajo style. I just made a bow loom in August 2011 and wove my first band on it, all in 2 hours one evening. Picture Robin Hood Bow and Arrow!
I crochet and have since a child. I do NOT knit, EVER!
I like to spin, dye, weave and crochet my own fiber that I have raised but currently only raise French Angora Rabbits and lots of furry dogs. I used to have a large herd of White and Colored Angora Goats, Merino sheep, Wensleydale, Teeswater, Lincoln and Cotswold long wool sheep, and a few llamas to boot. I want to work with my fiber so the animals had to be cut down to have enough time to create.
You can find me at other locations as well.

- I teach
Whatever I know whenever I run into someone that wants information and to learn.
I plan on teaching beginning peg loom weaving, how to construct your own bow loom and weave straps on it, hand painting and dyeing, and drop spindling.
