This is a small footprint swedish countermarch loom. I purchased this online about two years ago from Sara at the The Woolgatherers. Sara and her husband were very helpful in answering all my questions and assiting me in getting the loom setup via the phone.
This is my first (and I think only) floor loom and I've been throughly enjoying it. I haven't used all 8 shafts yet. The most so far was five for some waffle weave bath towels.
Never having used a countermarche loom, I have found two books very helpful when getting started - "The Big Book of Swedish Weaving" byLaila Lundell and "Tying up the Countermarch Loom" by Joanne Hall. I still use Joanne book every time I need to do a new tie up. Her section on evaluating the shed and making tie up corrections is invaluable.
