Mermaid woven on weaving stick loom by Noreen Crone-Findlay
I really love working with small looms, and am constantly amazed at the creative potential of them. I have been working with weaving sticks lately, and am designing all kinds of dolls with them. These mermaids were woven on 6 weaving sticks (the stick weaving kit from Lee Valley tools) with yarn that my daughter in law spun. There's more info on my blog: http://tottietalkscrafts.com/2012/01/20/...
Baby Blanket
I wove 36 six inch squares on the 6" Multi Loom and crocheted them together. I finished the blanket in the washer on gentle and in the drier until just damp, then finished drying it on the bed to 'block'. It turned out well, soft and a little fluffy, & did not shrink. More info on my blog.
Silk/alpaca throw
I wove to my yarn. It would have been nice a little bigger but this is all I had. It was spun by my sister and is going to be her xmas present. I am happy with it.
WeaveZine Lace Shawl project
I'm enjoying weaving this project. I took it along on our weekend trip and got quite a few blocks woven and assembled one strip. Looks nice, if I do say so.
Weavet-it Playsuit
I have this finished now except for zipper and buttons, which I have to get in town. Then I need to find a live model. It looks good on the plastic lady but I'd like to see how it fits a real person. Not me, too old and too fat. I wanted to try it just as printed but... well.. You know. The shorts appeared just a little too short, so I used the 2 x 4" loom and added a little length to the legs. Okay, more than that. The pattern wanted me to knit ribbing around the legs but I could not see that in their photo and I didn't like the look of it, either. But all the rest is Just As Written... promise!
itty bitty bags
A small bag for a cell phone or MP3 player, woven in handspun sari silks, lined in Georgette and fastened with a matching glass button and loop. I buttonhole stitched around the selvedges, then was able to oversew the sides of the bag up without it showing.
