Note the new adjustable tensioning peg instead of the paddle. This allows a more fine-tuned warp adjustment when weaving to keep consistent tension throughout the full 2 yard warp length. Also, the loom fits in a computer or backback more easiy without the paddle extension. (It fact, 2 of these looms fit in my computer bag or backpack!)
Graphed out one of the Birka tablet-woven bands and wove the pattern as a seven-thread pick-up, using the Habu doubled for the background threads and a sportweight merino for the pattern threads. The finished sample is dense, but still soft and flexible!
