I have learned that this is a very rare loom, as well as being old. I still have some research to do on this loom and have some patent numbers to look up as soon as I can travel to a university large enough to hold a government documents section. I have owned this loom since the mid-80's, it was dreadfully dirty and rusted and had to be completely dismantled and each piece, both wood and metal, refinished...there was no lovely old patina that survived! But, it is now a hardworking, well-loved loom that I care for and work on almost daily. The bench did not come with it....my husband made the bench.
