Black Canyon rep bathroom rug
The warp has 2 threads per heddle. I took a great ripsmatta workshop at the Conference of Northern California Handweavers in 2007 from Joanne Tallarovic. I was hooked and made several sets of placemats. We had just remodeled our bathroom and my husband insisted that he did not want to turn in his black bathtowel for the smoky blue one that I wanted to go with the tile. Joanne had this design in her book Rep Weave and Beyond. It was challenging more challenging than the designs I had been making. I used her colors and killed two birds with one stone: increasing my skill and satisying my husband's desire to keep his black bath towel.
This was made from many colors of carpet warp (for the warp) and 1-inch strips of fabric for the weft. (I don't seem to be able to enter these in the fields above.)
Four-Patch Corners Rep Rugs
These rugs took some time to weave due to rag preparation. I dismantled 20 men's dress shirts and cut them into 2 inch strips. Then the strips were sewn together.
I like the end view of the rolled rugs fresh off the loom because it shows the shirt colors so well. The first rug was mostly from white shirts with a few striped ones. The next three rugs went progressively to the darker colored and striped shirts. It is always fun to mix rag colors.
One of the rugs shows an experimental bit of inlay. I don't think it is very effective and may pick it out.
Overall these were a lot of work. But I like this design and will tie another color way to this warp.

Bright Rep Rugs - Warp #62
This is the third rep rug warp in my "stripes" series. My daughter requested a brightly colored rug for my little toddler granddaughter. This is the result. Perhaps it will soon help Evie learn her colors.
Black, grey and tan rep rugs - Warp #60
The first of a series of three rug warps in rep stripes. This one is warped in black, ecru, tan, two shades of grey and brown.
