Multicolored Merino Wool Scarf
In this project, I used 100% superwash merino wool. The fiber is very flexible and "springy." I'm not sure about the fringe yet. Trying to decide on whether or not to twist it. I found it very easy to work with on a cotton warp.
jacket in double weave
I had quite a lot of merino wool left over from a previous project and thought the double weave would make a nice quality for jacket fabric.
Again I had my Danish ceramics craftswoman make the most perfect square buttons to match the pattern :-)
Arbutus Scarf
This scarf was woven for my mom for her birthday. She chose the weft colour on a visit here and I bought some silk for the warp. The finished scarf is light and has a nice drape to it.
More on my blog here.
post prod scarf
a very open plain weave scarf.
not very plain as the interesting part will come in the post production stage.
keep checking the progress :)

**********UPDATE 6 Mar 10
It's off the loom, washed & trimmed. I'm really pleased with how the colours work. One thing I've realised on this project is how important the rolling of the paper is to how the final project comes off the loom. If a few warp threads fall off a layer of the paper as you're rolling it it creates a bow, or a pucker at about the mid-point. This works itself out in time once its off the loom (at least it does if you're using a soft wool - not sure about a silk, or a linen but I've no intention of finding out) but . .. it's irritating.
Now to pack it up, and send it off.

I'm not doing anything fancy on this project - just plain weave playing with colour variations. Warping was easy, nothing bizarre or unwieldy, I started weaving late this afternoon and its going smoothly. I'm looking forward to seeing how the colour variations play out. My aim is to be a bit free-form and qirky with this its meanf as a present for an equally quirky friend.
jacket material
I had some wool left over from the woolen drapes I wove in the autumn and thought it would make a nice quality for a jacket. I found another double weave draft in the Handweaver's Book of 8 Shaft patterns
