Warp Painted Scarf/Runner
After listening to Episode 2 of weavecast I decided I wanted to try warp painting. So this is what came of it. I want to make one in wool for a shawl eventually. This one was a fun project. I used Procion MX dyes without the Urea and I think it worked fine. It has been machine washed and dryed and the colors look just the same as when it was on the loom so I am happy with it.
Scarf in twill (handpainted warp)
This scarf I made from Tencel which I ordered from Yarn Plus. The material of the ready made hand painted warp was enough to make 2 scarves. The one in the picture was made with a silver grey weft. It has a beautiful drape and feels very soft round the neck. I hemstiched the fringes, left them unfinished and cut them off rather short.
Scarf in Twill (handpainted warp)
Both scarves shown under "Projects" are made from 2/8 Tencel which I ordered from Yarns Plus. The ready made warp is handpainted and easily made the 2 scarves. The draft here represents the marine shaded scarf.
