Kodachrome Jacket
I created Kodachrome for the Handwoven Garment Contest. I wanted something that would play as well on the runway as it did up close, so I chose bright, bold colors, with an interesting pattern (8-shaft advancing point twill, based loosely off pattern 173 in Carol Strickler's A Weaver's Book of Eight Shaft Patterns) to reward the close-by viewer.
The photography for the piece was done by Joe Decker of Rock Slide Photography, http://www.rockslidephoto.com .

Warp Painted Scarf/Runner
After listening to Episode 2 of weavecast I decided I wanted to try warp painting. So this is what came of it. I want to make one in wool for a shawl eventually. This one was a fun project. I used Procion MX dyes without the Urea and I think it worked fine. It has been machine washed and dryed and the colors look just the same as when it was on the loom so I am happy with it.
painted warp runner
painted warp runner, woven in shadow weave using pattern 4-1-17 from Powell's 1000+ Patterns for Shadow Weave. Eventually decided to hem rather than keep fringe.
Painted Warp Towels
I painted these towels as a demonstration. It was a while before I got them on the loom. They wove up quickly and they look great. I love the combination of painted warp and lace stripes.
Scarves - Lime/Denim
This is a warp I painted on Sarafina, a 70% cotton/30% rayon nubby yarn from Henry's Attic. The first scarf I used Lime Bambu 7 for the weft. The second scarf Navy Bambu 7.
The draft is out of the Carol Strickler 8 Shaft Pattern book, pg 87, 322-4.
