This pattern can be easily threaded up and woven as plain weave.... or you can you toss in an extra pic of thin warp and make it into an interesting log cabin method of weaving a rug with repeating long sections of lighter or darker sections.   I have done this pattern a lot of times in blues, and woven on black or dark denim is very striking!

I love simple designs that make impressive looking patterns, and enjoy using 2 harness plain weaves for showing folks how creative they can be with only 2 harnesses.  I teach often on 2 harness union looms, and having a few of these patterns available can make learning fun and result in an interesting rug or totebag in plain weave.

This one is my most favorite threading I do for rag rugs. I thread it up so there are an even number of stripes, then if i wish to weave 2 placemants side by side, I can easily split the pattern in half to make symetrical mats
