I created Kodachrome for the Handwoven Garment Contest. I wanted something that would play as well on the runway as it did up close, so I chose bright, bold colors, with an interesting pattern (8-shaft advancing point twill, based loosely off pattern 173 in Carol Strickler's A Weaver's Book of Eight Shaft Patterns) to reward the close-by viewer.
The photography for the piece was done by Joe Decker of Rock Slide Photography, http://www.rockslidephoto.com .

Tien, you've done it again! Another sterling example of your skills at work. Not just the dyeing and weaving, but the whole concept -- including the good sense to have a professional tailor get the perfect fit and construction. Thanks for posting this, it's very inspirational.

What a beautiful jacket - it looks like it is glowing!
Your work is just wonderful. The colors, structure, everything. I like the subtle way the twill patterning shows through the colors.

Both the colours and the pattern are beautiful, but I especially like the design of the jacket, that really allows the fabric to be seen without too much "disturbance" of cuts and other distraction. Well done!
