Project for a weaving exchange with the Guild of Canadian Weavers.
Fun and quick to do! Moving on to adapt the draft and weave a scarf in each pattern. This way using the tie up more than once.( Its a lot of work doing the tie up when you have a bad back!)
The cotton is 20/2 and the linen measured up to 3900 yds/lb with the McMorran balance
This is a gebrochene / hind und under twill that a friend, Gudrun Weisinger created.
Blog post is now up at my blog on this project...
Susan
Beautiful! I love the way these structures look in such fine threads. What weight cotton was that, by the way? It looks like it might be finer than 20/2.
Ruth
Beautiful bookmarks!
Is the twill a Gebrochene one?....It's lovely whatever it is!
Beth
Yes, it was 20/2 cotton and the twill is a gebrochene /hind and under.
I'll update the post entry to show that. (I had such difficulty getting what is there up last night !)
Thanks for the comments...
Susan
Just the same question as Beth has? Is the draft called " gebrochene.."? It´s a german word that means "broken". We say in Germany "gebrochener Köper"= " broken twill". Is it the same??
But however the name is. It`s looking great and so elegant!!

Great design and colors! I love them!!
Thank you Tomrsey! I lucked out having a small cone of the gold coloured linen. Been saving that for something for years and its day arrived! Sure wish I knew who made it or where it came from... it'd be nice to get more!
:) Susan
I'm so glad to see the German translation for 'gebrochene' from Kristina, because I was wondering about that as I wove a gebrochene piece recently. I think the scale of these bookmarks is just so remarkable! Combined with Susan's impeccable weaving, these certainly make such an impressive collection. Always a treat to see what Susan has been up to at the loom!
Oooooh! I wants one preciousss. Some day when I have 12 harnesses! Wow.
