Pattern is # 47 Breaks and Recesses from 8 Shaft Pattern Book by Carol Strickler.
Cotton used is 8/2 from Brassard's in Quebec. 3360 yd/lb
A straight draw of 1 to 8 and same for treadling. All pattern is in the tie up so makes for fun fast weaving.
Easily adapted to 10 or 12 shafts for more complex squares, but finer threads would be recommended for those.
(Project took a long time due to a back injury!)

The towels are so cheerful, and beautifully woven!
Hope your back injury is getting better........it's lucky you could still weave.

These are great! :)
They are wonderful. I like your colors and the stripes.
Nice color choices, great pattern. Well done!
Isn't that Strickler 8 Shaft book the best?
Hope you are feeling better now.
Sorry this took so long but your new chair seems like it has helped. Wishing you pain free weaving.
Beautiful towels and colors and pattern. Good choices from a very good weaver. Nice to see you are back again. Health goes first.
I first thougt this was waffle weave. When I saw it enlarged the pattern is squared up. What technique is this? You have changed the colours so beautiful. Happy colors. Happy me.
I heard one friend call this a 'reverse waffle weave' which when you look at it, makes sense! Its a twill variation with plain weave breaks around each square. If there is a more technical term, then I'm caught short for it right now.
I like towels to have floats for absorbancy, not overly long floats to snag and reversible. This pattern fits the bill nicely. I'm going to play with the tie up and try 16/2 cotton and 10 or 12 shafts next time. Will also try single unit stripes for the diamond effect.
Its a great 'go-to' for when inspiration fails you as towels are always handy for use, gifts or sales.
My back just reminded me once more who's boss and so nursing it along right now again. But I'll be weaving again when I can!
Susan
I love your color combinations. Hope your back is better soon.
