This set won the Technical Weaving Award at the recent Celebration of Creativity sponsored by the Whitewater Fiber Guild, Whitewater, Wisconsin.
The three pieces were woven on two warps and two looms. The towels and placemats are a 5-end satin woven on a 16-shaft computer controlled dobby loom. The placemat has open places in the solid center stripe and the fabric is somewhat firmer due to a doubled weft. The damask runner was woven on a drawloom with 50 pattern shafts. The idea was to co-ordinate the damask pattern with somewhat more subdued patterning in the same colors for home textiles that would work well together.
Materials: Warp: 20/2 mercerized cotton Weft: 20/1 linen
Sara,
You hooked me with these! Really nicely done and glad to hear you won an award for this well-designed set!

Oh Sara! These are lovely!
They make a lovely set.
Me entere ahora, un poco tarde, pero como se dice más vale tarde que nunca. Me alegro mucho que le diran el premio porque realmente es hermoso, enhorabuena y mi más sincera felicitación.
Un saludo
