bilder tagna under dagen.
Hi
I don't understand the language of your text, but thank you for posting this interesting set of photos showing woolen cloth being fulled using traditional methods(?) I hope I've got that right!
Beth
You right, we were 20 weavers working in the fulling mill all day and have about 50 visitors.
The language is swedish and the fulling mill is situated in Skrekarhyttan Nora Sweden
Hope you don't mind, but I had my daughter help me translate this. It looked so interesting.
Thanks for sharing,

A group of weavers from Dalarna and participants in a vävkurs in Hjulsjö came to try pitching. most weavers were short test fabrics in different qualities and techniques, which in some cases may lead to longer weaves next year. At times it worked all three stock pairs simultaneously. Here koommer some pictures taken during the day
Thanks Leatherweaver, for translating, and thank you ruthlisbeth, for the pictures. Looks like you all had a great time at the fulling mill that day!
Beth
(hope it's ok with you, Lisbeth)
pic 2: the fabric is folded before stamping
"Pitching" should be "stamping" (or "fulled in a hammer mill", if you wish)
It may (or not...) be ok to toot my own horn here - at bergdalspinnhus.com there are two articles on vadmal stamping: the vadmal adventure and on vadmal in English (there's also one in Swedish only)
tack för hjälpen Kerstin, min engelska är dålig och jag sitter på "landet" utan lexikon
kul att flera har reagerat på inlägget
I love the picture of the fulling machine. It's wonderfully low tech. I would like to see video of the machine in operation.Thank you for sharing.
Have a good day!
Unfortunately we did not have a video camera for the weekend of fulling at the mill in Norway that Kerstin has on her website - just the stills. :)
cheers,
Laura
Franco, if memory serves me this morning I believe I saw a couple of minutes video on Youtube.
Happy Tartan Day today here in the US and Canada! (wear your plaid)
