Weave structure is shadow weave. Threading was derived from a draft from The Gartner Manuscript.
These are WAY cool! I love it when I see someone think about color in the warp and its placement with the design elements. And then go to the trouble of using more than one shuttle in the weft, too!
Pretty cool! (Gee, why not 5 out of 5 stars for that happiness rating?)
Thanks for your nice comment, Sally. I enjoy using some of the old drafts as a springboard for shadow weave fabrics. And despite all the color changes, these napkins weave up quickly.
I think this is one of my favorite structures. So many things you can do to enhance it with a colored thread in the right place. Great job on the napkins!
Thanks, Louisa. You're right - shadow weave is a great weave to play with color! So many pleasant surprises reveal themselves.
Your napkins are beautiful.....I love the way the color is picked up by the pottery, too.
