Notes:

i wanted to (attempt to!) make a gauzey "woodsy" scarf for me to wear over hair this spring/summer...

tried to make each of the little panels of color true to themselves (the "water" & "trees" panels don't "share" any colors) but i went out of my way to try & make them random & not copying any of the other water/tree panels in order of colors or even sett... i'm such an OCD hyper-organizer this was a BIG lesson for me haha ;)

plan/hope to cut length of fabric in half when i'm done and seam them together up middle... we'll see how it goes :)

edit: have cut fabric from the loom, have changed my mind about cutting it and sewing to make more of a square-fabric, i am really digging the length... still need to finish the warp ends, & had planned to only use that gold-yellow band of soumak stitches to "hold" warp for me at beginning of weaving but its grown on me actually (isn't that odd??), this time i'm keeping the band there...

that's really lovely - the soumac band (am I reading that right) is that woven in or did you add it separately - the pattern looks different from a plain weave.

thank you, Thumper :) yes, i

thank you, Thumper :)

yes, i wove the soumak first (you can see the pic where there is no weft yet, only that first gold-band).... soumak is not a tabby/plain weave, its done by wrapping weft around the warp-threads in certain ways (depending on what you want it to look like)... its done with no shed-changes.. i use it with most my weaves to  pull warp-threads into alignment for me, but don't always keep the  soumak there when i'm finished...

the soumak i used this time was simple form of alternating rows of open & closed oriental weaves, 2/1 (2 forward, one back) with each wrap, & it makes a band of slight "chevron" looking stitches that are very  dense.....

if one googles the net, you can find better descriptions/explinations of weaving with soumak (better than i could ever do job of here) & if someone is interested in studying more about it, i recomend Jean Wilson's "Soumak Workbook", its very small/thin book but THE BEST i ever found to describe these techniques...
