something simple i pieced together.... wove the back piece & strap on Kromski harp (back-piece being 50% longer than front), and wove front of purse on Journey Loom...
nothing fancy, i was (am!) still nervous to do more than simple geometric sorts of designs... most of purse is a wooly lopi weft-face over a tight warp yarn... some soumak weaving on front/back of purse (mostly along top edges of each flap) and needle-wove the eye of the hamsa....
made the strap long enough to go down each side of purse & along bottom (so that purse is about 2 inches "thick", & has flat bottom).... the tassel/tufts are added on at the end, i wanted the purse to have those lovely kurdish tassels ;) they make me so happy...
What an awesome piece! Love it:>.
thank you! <3 :)
its been over 2 years since i made it, i put that poor purse through HELL & it is still hanging-together for me haha ;)
Wonderful bag! This use of weft-faced weaving is inspired -- and the rows of little tassels are adorable. This project shows (again!) your delicious colour sense. The cool tones in this bag are very different from the sun-warmed colours in your recent work, but the choice is perfect all the same. Wonderful!

I love bags and that one is great...even better that it is doing what it is supposed to do, take care of your stuff.

The colors and design are great. Really love the eye in hand motif. You have the most intersting things.
