I'm very new to weaving (just started about 6 weeks ago) and am hopelessly addicted! The lengths/widths on loom listed above are approximations, since I didn't make note of them. The finished length/width are the size the scarf is now (not including 3 1/2" of fringe at each end) after hand washing and air drying. This was my 3rd "real" project (not just test samples)...and my best yet. I was looking for a great texture to weave with my beautiful yarn, and really liked the windowpane look of the warp and weft floats. I got the basic idea for this project from the Schacht Spindle website under "Yearning to Weave". NOTE: FYI...not sure why, but my yarn specs aren't being saved...I used Malabrigo Rios Pure Merino Superwash for both warp (Azul Profundo) and weft (Zarzamora).
it looks very warm and comfy!
It is warm and comfy and very soft, too! I just checked out your projects...fantastic! I love your colors and textures.
You did a great job, and the patterning shows off this lovely yarn well. You are off to a great start!
Congrats! I'm not believing this is your 3rd project. You did a very nice job and your beat looks very even. Well done. So glad to hear you love weaving. I agreee, it's addictive and one of the few "healthy" addictions.
ps-don't go looking at my projects. Weavolution is my mistress and my projects have diminished as the site has required more attention. We are over 7500 strong and growing.
I'll post my first 2 projects, as well.
I very much appreciate all your comments.
Beautiful! I have been trying to find a draft for the window pane but haven't found it yet to make a scarf for my hubby.
