My first experience with warping with overspun woolyarn. This was a little bit tricky, but the resulting fabric is really surprising, so that I plan to do more for the next studie group-exchange .
It`s a pattern from Lotte Dalgaard ( Väv Magasinet 4/09). She is a danish weaver with a lot of experience and competence with weaving "magic materials".
The yarn in the warp was linen 17/1 Nm ( 17000m/kg), and superfine woolcrepe / overspun woolyarn (30000m/kg). The yarn was purchased in Denmark at
For the weft is only linen used.At the borders are just two threads of pure metall yarn silver from Japan.
During weaving I noticed that it is very important to weave very light and transparent with not more than 6 weft passes / cm.
Wow, I like this. What are your plans for it?

I really like this piece of cloth. Thanks for posting.
A Christmas gift for my mother. It can be worn as a scarf. For more festive occasions. For this she gets a nice shawl pin because it is not easy to wrap.

Very beautiful! Thanks for posting all the pictures.

You did it! Cool. I have the kit but haven't done it yet. I did make the shawl she has on the cover of the book (with your lovely linen). Yes, it was challenging, but really fun. Now I feel motivated to break open the kit!

Yes Marie do it! It's fun.
A little bit tricky to work with, exspecially warping. But I know you own Lottes book. She has good working tips for handling this overspun curly wollyarn- with tape and so on.
I have noticed them just after weaving, but will remeber them for the next warping term. Let's see how you will do. My first attempt failed, because I wove to strong. But this is really learning by doing and thinking.and the effect was finally magic!
