Once again...very nice!!

I really enjoy inkle weaving but finding a way to use them without the fiddly joining is something less desirable for me.  You may have found a sturdier method for using inkle bands.  How do you stitch the bands on canvas?

Thanks again!

If you weave each band with the same colour border--even just one open, one heddle--at each edge, then you can line them all up, pin them, and zigzag the borders together and to the canvas at the same time, using your sewing machine!  I usea  thread that matches my border colour and it practically becomes invisible.  I didn't like the idea of joining each inkle by hand, so this was my solution.  It makes a good sturdy tote!.  My cousin beats hers up with school books etc every day. It's been 2 years and it's still going strong.

I like the idea of sewing

I like the idea of sewing them to the canvas. I have some bands I was thinking of doing as a tote but haven't because I didn't want to sew them together. Now I feel like I may use them after all. Thanks.
