Following a pattern to emulate an eight harness pinwheel pattern on a rigid heddle. A pickup stick is used to create the sheds that would be created by the eight harnesses on a floor loom. Once you get the pattern down it moves fairly quickly. I am concentrating on getting a proper and even beat as well as figuring out how to carry the yarn up the selvedge without it being a real mess!
2/24/13 - in addition to pinwheels I am playing with doing a 2/2 twill and some variations with one heddle and one pickup stick - still playing with getting my packing correct for the pinwheels. . .
I love pinwheels and I think it's really great that you've found a way to weave them on a rigid heddle loom! Looks like the fabric is turning out very nicely!
this is really cool. I hope you publish the pattern somewhere once you figure it out.
Wow. Pinwheels on a rigid heddle. Very nice.
The pinwheels look like they are coming out near perfect from one row to the next. Looks like your mastering it. :)
