I've tried adding the yarns to the yarn section twice (sigh). The warp is undegummed organzine silk, fine merino, and a spacer thread removed after fulling. The weft is degummed tussah organzine, fine merino and 16/1 linen for the stripes. Due to fulling, the cloth draws in, forming a collapse weave.
Could you post more about how you set this up? I'm intrigued. Colors wonderful.
There's more information in the notes section now. Thanks so much.
A really great example of how plain weave (I assume that's plain weave?) can be anything but plain! What did you use for the spacer thread that you pulled out? Am I correct in understanding that the coloured stripes are only weftwise and that the spacers were only warpwise?
Mind if I link to this project on the Plain Weave study group on the Weaving Today site?
This looks gorgeous, very beautiful and it would be fun to wear!
Wonderful and exciting work ! I would have loved to touch it :0)
