Deflected double weave sample in 20/2 worsted and zephyr. Second 2 photos show sample after finishing. Sample size prior to washing 10 x 8, after 9 x 7. Sample is light and lofty. Considering a Ruana.
I really like the design and the colors! So what will shrink more - the worsted? I'm assuming that the silk in the zephyr will not shrink as much.
Looks like the pattern is going to be really effective, when it's fulled/felted.
Can't wait to see!Beth
So there it is, it is very light and quite airy. The green accent stripes do not show up as well in this photo, they are a minty green color in Zephyr. I am half way through the actual scarf. Despite the name "deflected double weave" the structure is not really double weave but interlacements with long floats on front and back both in the warp and weft.

This is wonderful! I can see the minty green , it looks very nice.
Dawn, thanks for the update.
I do like the way the weave pattern has shrunk, and as Deflected Double Weave is definitely on my "to do" list, your scarf is very inspirational!

I just took the 3D's of 3D with Ruby Leslie at MAFA this summer, and bought some of the Zephyr from the Mannings on the way home. It was wonderful to weave with! Your project post makes me want to get a loom warped in this structure and break open those skeins, pronto.
