There is no such thing as a stupid question, only a person who needs information they don't have and knows the right question to ask!.

This group is for us that who love to push our 4-shaft looms to the edge of their capability. If you have ever said " Who said that was a 8-shaft pattern, I can do it on 4...." or "who cares its a 36 pick pattern..." this is your group. We are the weavers who are not afraid of being adventurous.

Come in and get help or break out of that 4 pick box by joining the weave-alongs we will be doing in the future. We are here to challenge and make each other better weavers on our 4 shaft looms.

A group for people who have taken a class from the Dread Viscountess Seelie (mka Barb Klessig), whether at Pennsic or anywhere else. Also sometimes known as "Seelie's Knotty Apprentices," or for two weeks of the year, "Seelie's Pennsic Apprentices" (but we're **k**not officially her apprentices!) Think of us as her Groupies.

Also for those who simply have an interest in weaving, particularly in multiple-heddle techniques on a rigid heddle loom.

Or if you just like to weave on any kind of loom and/or talk and learn about textiles and textile archaeology, or simply listen to people talk weaving and/or textile archaeology, grab a seat & join in. We're not fussy, really.

We like people who make beads and things out of wood, too. And people who generally play with fibre. Fibre is good, it keeps weavers in business.

And remember to ask Seelie when she last had water!

There are many "Buy Handmade" selling venue sites online that weavers use to sell their wares, I mean the internet is a viable source for everything...am I right? WEAVEmeet members sell their handwoven wares on the internet no matter what venue is used i.e. Etsy, ArtFire, 1000Markets, Housewarps, DaWanda, etc. So...let us build the presence of handweavers on the web. Let us educate the young generation, and show them how fun it is to weave. Let us get the word out "Buy our Handwoven Goods!" Let us get people excited about the weaving process and craft. Our forum post have information on marketing, setting up your online shop, reviews of festivals and shows...and more. So please join up if you have a shop online, or are in the process of opening your shop...whatever the venue.

I have created this group not because I am a teacher of this weaving method, but becuase I have such a great respect for its creator, Susan Barrett Merrill, her keyfoms and entire philosophy of life.

A quote from the Weaving a Life website says it all...

"Weaving involves crossing two threads, the warp and the weft, one
vertical and the other horizontal, one stretched taut and the other
undulating and intertwined with the first. To produce the textile it
is necessary for these two threads to be bound, otherwise each will
remain a fragile and fluttering potentiality...if the meeting of

Description: Favorite scarf finishes & borders

A beautiful scarf can be marred by a poorly executed finish on the ends or an "out of balance" border within the body of the scarf. I've started this group to learn about the different resources folks use to plan their borders or to finish their scarves. Do you have a hint on how to balance the left and right side of a scarf? Do you have a favorite weft protector finish that you put on before you twist the fringe. Do you hem? Please share! Please post any written references in magazine articles that you love or that you have written. No matter if you use your rigid heddle or the lastest electronic loom I hope we will all learn something from each other.

Meridian Jacobs is a Solano County (Northern California) business with a focus on Jacob sheep, but the business is much more. We teach fiber classes, we offer on-farm events, we sell fiber and yarn, and we weave with all sorts of yarns--not just Jacob wool--but we love our beautiful natural colored Jacob yarn best.
