This project was fun in that I could run out an idea and learn how to work with a finer yarn. I had some doubts on the variegated colors but they worked. My next weft color will be red. If I fall short on the warp, the red weft will be my next sample exchange piece! The wet finished piece feels like butter. I will wear it to the CWS fashion show!
Up close you can see the design, far away you have a nice fall motif. I had lots of help on thinking this scarf thru so thank you very much! At 60 epi I need to make sure that I lift the proper # of ends with my filler yarn to make it easier to count threads for the fringe. At 60 epi I am also now a member of the battery driven braider that folks talked about in one of the forums.
You can see my original work thru on the idea here. That project was for the Complex Weavers sample exchange in a study group. I will post a wif for the scarf above at a later date when I am at my studio computer.

This is wonderful. Wish I could see it in person. Congratulations!

Deb,
Will you be wearing this at CWS or Convergence, so we know who you are?
Hope so!
Sally
yep, it is packed for CWS fashion show!
Deb, this is breathtaking in the pictures and I can't wait to see you, and it ,in person, in Albuquerque. Thanks for sharing, Kati
Usually some of the appeal of a woven piece is lost in a photo -- but this scarf is so luscious even the photo is a work of art. Your design, fibers and technical excellence meld into a really marvelous work of art.
That is beautiful - what is the yarn? Did you dye this as well?
Thanks! This is variegated yarn from Joy yarns. This is tencel warp 30/2 sett at 60 epi and the weft is 60/2 silk. It worked beautifully. I haven't learned yet how to do painted warps YET. But this skein inspires me! I do have some tencel at hand and will be taking a natural dye extract warp painting class at Earth's Palette seminar. I'll report back in Oct!
