This scarf I made from Tencel which I ordered from Yarn Plus. The material of the ready made hand painted warp was enough to make 2 scarves. The one in the picture was made with a silver grey weft. It has a beautiful drape and feels very soft round the neck. I hemstiched the fringes, left them unfinished and cut them off rather short.
This looks lovely!
Yarns Plus was the very first place I became aware of (at a Convergence) that carried tencel back in the 90's. I enjoyed weaving with their product tremendously!
One thing about tencel, it needs to be sett way tighter than one would think, and denser than many places recommend. (It will still have an excellent drape.) It needs to be sett tighter to stand up to frequent wear, especially it it is used as a garment that has seams. The ends of your scarf may fray into wipsy bits over time, as that is what happened to some of my early tencel yardage where my sett was 28 epi and I did not twist the ends.
Thank you for your comments. Time will tell whether the sett of my scarf is not tight enough and whether the fringes will fray. Up until now it has kept well. So hope for the best.
What lovely colours. And very neat weaving, too.
Thank you Ellen. The 2/8 Tencel handpainted warp in Plum I ordered online from Yarns Plus in Canada. This one I used the silver grey for the weft. The warp has enough length to make 2 scarves. The second one I used navy and I am pleased with that result too:

yes, And you should be :-)
Sometimes I get envious of all the yarns resources you have on the American/Canadian continent.
absoulutely lovely! Can you share the draft?
Hi Rebecca, you can now find the complete draft under same subject. Have fun!
DELICIOUS! I love the subtle qualities of the gray, but the navy is lovely too! Thank you for sharing the draft. As a new 8 shaft weaver, I am anxious to explore block designs.
