Selvage threads doubled, floating selvage, linen warp sized. The paper was woven damp. It was surprisingly hard to keep the selvages even. The coaster fringe was fixed in place with a Phillipine finish and left with sizing in. The coasters without plant inclusions were ironed on a linen setting. All fringes were ironed.

Ooohh how exciting! I had once made an experiment with newspaper. But the paper was not stable enough. But that also depends on the newspaper itself ( I need another publishers newspaper). The comic papers excerp I really like, because it shows a beautiful mottled surface.
Thank you for showing this!
The newspaper was very soft. I used a highwhorl spindle as a support spindle ( just barely resting on a flat surface) to spin it.
Thanks for the good words.
