In September 2006 I attended a workshop with Randall Darwall in Geelong Australia. The beginning of the warp was shared with the other workshop participants with the remainder to be used after the workshop and hopefully showing some of what we had learned. Although I finished the weaving as soon as I came home it's taken until this weekend to finish it properly, and while I know why I waited so long - there were lots of ends to darn in - I wish I had finished it sooner as it feels great and the colours just sing. When I looked at it, trying to work out what I had done, I felt as though I had been playing that card game where you get cards and have to design something to fit the cards. This project seems to have had everything happening - twill, tabby, 15 colours, Fibonacci, colour gamp. If I were designing it now, with a bit more experience than I had then, I would leave out half the things as on paper it all seems too much, but in the hand I have this beautful scarf where everything has just come together so well
