This is a bobbinlace edging I'm making for my niece's wedding - last November! This is a simple Buckspoint edging. Even though it is not difficult, I'm running about an 2 hrs/inch - slow going!
It's so nice that it will be used for such a special occasion. What a labor of love!
Stunning!
Thanks - coincidentally - I've picked at least one of your pieces as my favorites too!
like your bucks lace!
and your idea to enter BL here, as there is no other craft bobbin lace is closer related to than weaving!
there is already a great place for knitting and crochet, there is one for quilting, and this one for weaving of all kind
I'll follow your example!
Your niece is a very lucky girl! Since her wedding was last Nov... what will you do with this beautiful piece when you are finished? How long will the finished piece be? This is absolutely amazing.
Thanks Suzy.
I will finish the piece and give it to her. The edging is about 8" square - so 32" of lace.
The same niece is pregnant, so I'm starting work on the christening gown. Wish me luck there - I don't really have enough time given that it will be 120/2 silk!

The lace is beautiful...I want to work more with Buck's point...I started to work throught one of my buckspoint books and I need to get back to it. I did start a new tiny lace 1/4 inch wide for a project.
Cute weavatar! What bucks book are you using? I used the Stott book to really get going. Thanks for the complement and comments!
By the way, there is a very simple way to make a lovely baby's christening cap from a handkerchief. Could be a way to make friends with the sewing machine once again. If you would like it, I can send it to you. I make them for all my friends with babies.
