Searching

The searching functionality in Weavolution is still under construction. This help documents the way that searching works as of launch. We’ll be working hard over the next few weeks to bring you a better searching experience.

Searching in Weavolution can be done from three places:

• The text search box on the upper right hand of every Weavolution page (The functionality of this box will change in a future iteration.)
• The Advanced Search pages
• The search box that is on the Projects, Yarns, Drafts, People, Groups and Help

This document will briefly describe the kinds of searches you can do from each of these spots.

Text search

The text box that is in the upper right corner of every Weavolution page will search all of the content that is in Weavolution.

If you type the word scarf into the text box, you will get results for anything in Weavolution that has a tag of scarf.

The results from your search will include all projects, drafts and yarns within weavolution that have the word(s) that you entered as tags. You can look through the list and find the things that you are interested in.

If you enter more than one word in the search box, Weavolution will return things that match all of the words that you entered. You can have Weavolution return things that match any of the words by putting OR in between the words.

Advanced Search

Advanced Search is a way that you can do some simple specific searches. For example, if you want to search for all scarf projects, you can go to the Advanced Search Projects page and search for projects with scarf in the name.

To get to Advanced Search, click on the link below the search box on the upper right corner of every page.

This takes you to a page with tabs that will let you search for Projects, Yarns, Drafts,

People, and Looms.

When you type search in the text box next to Project Name, you get back all of the projects that have scarf in the name.

Using Advanced Search, you can search for Projects, Yarns, Drafts, People, or Looms using whatever words you want to search for. Just click on the appropriate tab from the Advanced Search page.

Search Box

There is also a search box within many of the tabs that are at the top of any Weavolution page. This search box is available for Projects, Drafts, Yarns, Groups, People, and Help.
