Forums are where much of the communication between weavers takes place. Like the forums on other social networking sites, Weavolution's forums are long chains of related messages ("threads"). When a group is created, a forum for that group is also created for members' communications; group members have access to that forum as long as they are members of the group.
To access the forums, simply click on the Forums tab at the top of any page. This will take you to your Forums page: your group forums are listed at the top, above Weavolution's forums (Weavolution News and Announcements, Weaving, Chat!, Help using Weavolution, and For Sale or Trade). From there, simply click on the desired Group Forum link to get to the forum.
Once at the Forum, you'll see a list of the topics in that forum, with the most recent at the top. Click on the Topic link; that topic will open, with a text editor box at the after the last post. The text editor boxes have a default setting of Rich Text Formatting; if you're familiar with Microsoft Word or other word-processing programs, the tool buttons will look very familiar. There are also a couple reminders below the text editor box:
-
Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically.
-
Most HTML tags are allowed (there is also a link to more composing and formatting tips)
-
Lines and paragraphs break automatically (Enter begins a new paragraph)
Simply type your message, then click on Preview to see how it looks before posting, or click on Save to post.
Once your post is saved, you'll notice a few things:
-
Weavolution takes the first few words of your post and turns them into a clickable link
-
A delete link at the bottom of the post allows you to delete it
-
An edit link at the bottom of the post allows you to change it
-
A reply link at the bottom of the post allows people to reply to your post
