My Profile

 

Your profile is created automatically when you register. You may add photos and information about yourself, your family and your looms. To update your profile, select “My profile” from the left-hand context menu on the Weavolution home page.

There are four tabs in My profile. The first, My profile, displays the information you’ve entered. For new users, you’ll only see your name and how long you’ve been on Weavolution.

The Edit my profile tab allows you to:

·         Change your user name, email address and password.

·         Upload profile pictures and avatars.

·         Specify messaging and notification settings.

The “Edit fun stuff about me” tab is where you add more personal information about yourself:

·         Years weaving

·         The types of weaving you do

·         Names of your kids, significant others and/or pets

·         Your favorite colors and fibers

·         Where you live

·         Your blog site

·         Other personal information you wish to share about yourself and your weaving

At the bottom of this screen you can opt to:

·        Show you are a teacher

·        Show when you’re online

·        Show when you were last online

·        State whether you accept messages

You may add your looms to your profile. Enter the name of your loom in the “Looms” field and then click the “Add my loom” button. The name you enter should be the name you want others to see, so it can be the manufacturer’s name or a nickname. You will see the loom added below the “My looms” header.


 

Once you insert all that information, don’t forget to click the “Save” button! After saving this, you can select your loom(s) to add details and even a photo.

The Notifications option under My Profile allows you to request notification if threads or posts of a specific content type (projects, forum topic, group post, or help) have activity.  After subscribing, depending on your notification settings for the subscription, you will either receive an email (Mail option) or a message in Weavolution (Web Option) (I don't know if this is correct as I couldn't test this).  The notification interval options are immediately, every hour, twice a day, daily, or weekly.  The notification setting defaults to what it in your profile but may be changed for each subscription.

Current status:

  • You have X active subscriptions.
  • Your default sending method for new subscriptions is Web
  • Your default sending interval for new subscriptions is Immediately

The edit allows you to change the send method, interval, change the status (active or inactive), or delete the subscription (same function as drop).
*Edit your notifications settings* allows you to modify your default settings.  Your Profile screen is displayed.  The notifications settings are at the bottom.

You may also *temporarily disable* or *cancel all* of your subscriptions.

To add a new subscription, select Thread or Content Type.

Thread allows you to add a new subscription by node (I got errors when I tried this so I don't know what is referred to by node)
Content Type allows you to add a new subscription by Projects, Forum Topic, Group Posts, or Help (I don't really understand this is I didn't test it so not sure how to document it)

In addition to the *Notifications Overview*, there is a *Subscriptions *selection.
This will give you a view of all of your subscriptions.

You may limit the view by selecting *Filter* and specifying the desired subset in *one *of the following:
Status (Active, Blocked, Inactive)
Type (Thread, Content Type, Author, Content Type and Author) Send method (Mail, Web)
Send interval (Immediately, Every Hour, Twice a Day, Daily, Weekly)

You may manage the subscriptions by Selecting the Update Option you want from the drop down *Update Options Menu* and the subscriptions to which the update should be applied (indicated with a check mark to the left of the selected subscription).  You may also edit and drop the subscriptions as on the *Administer your Subscriptions* display.*

How to change your Avitar

If you want to change your Avitar, you perform the same steps you used to put up the original:

1)  My profile/Edit My profile

2)  Browse to image

3)  Save

Then clear your Browser.  The directions for IE 8 are:

4)  Tools/Internet Options

5)  Browsing history - Delete.  A screen will appear - make sure temporary items are deleted.

6)  Refresh your screen.

Currently, the original Avatar will still show up under Edit My profile, but your new Avatar will show up everyplace else.
