I am bringing the upcoming WAL over from the RH group, hoping everyone interested in a new WAL will follow.
I am looking for suggestions. Steve, I think, mentioned a cleft weft? Can you enlighten us on this weave structure.
any further ideas for the RH loom? Weft structures.
I want to put on one cotton warp using 8/2 cotton doubled and sample some interested structures that can also be mug rugs for gifts. It's a twofer opportunity.
Thoughts? Ideas? Drafts? Pictures? Whatcha got?

PS-This will start on November 29 or 30.

I'd love to do a series based on the Textures and Patterns book, but I've got Christmas gifts to weave (don't know anyone who would use mug rugs) so I won't be joining in this time.
hi to all,
I couldn't stand it no longer to sit around doing nothing. So i took my little frame loom and put a continuous warp on it. It is in pure Saori -style ,totaly without any planning and is intended to be 4 mug rugs. I use some leftover novelty yarn and I am weaving weftreb.I wonder how it will turn out in the end but i am happy to be weaving again.
I am also testing some new yarn(rope)for stringheddles .It is nylon(yah I know) only 0,5 mm ,from diy-shop (used when putting floortiles in)I will see how it behaves and if the knots stay in place.
Hi Jeannine,
Your string heddles look good! I may be the only person who hates nylon for heddles-it's good to experiment and see how you feel about it.
You said your yarn is a novelty one-what is it exactly-it looks very ''rustic'' in the photos.

Oh! Lovely picture Jeannine! The mug rugs look great and your dog is gorgeous.

Cool mug rugs Jeannine. I looked at your flickr photos, too. I like the bits of color in your rugs. they look casual and spontaneous.
Love the mugs, and loved your other photos - you must have had fun experimenting - and mug rugs are ideal for that! I hope you realise that this gets contagious!!!! I already have projects about to become to take form, and there you are wickedly suggesting another fun thing I could be doing, hehe! But I can't have an empty loom can I?
thank you all for the nice reactions:)
I know it gets contagious and I struggle to limit the amount of project i have going .I also am tempted by the rosepathwal but i have put that on hold because for the moment i am still limited to the frame loom. next project is a test of my homespun yarn.

Homespun yarn on your backstrap loom?
hi laverne ,no not on my backstrap yet; i have put a continuous warp on the frameloom so don't have to keep it under tension with my body; I want to see how sticky the yarn gets and if there will be pilling on the heddles or not.I will show the results in backstrapgroup ;
