Weaving A Traditional Coverlet by Helen Jarvis, isbn 0-934026-43-2....I know, huh? a coverlet book...BUT Helen wrote a nice couple of pages on "evolving a border" which gives some good brain biscuits for working thru planning your threading and treadling for a border.
I hope other people can identify some other border planning resources.
