ok, here's the lastest leno finish, more details are on my project page at:

Bear in mind this is my web on the loom which has not yet been wet finished!  You really have to wrap your mind around moving the leno twists.  The drawing was key for maintaining my sanity at the loom.  Basically I broke the units apart with one pickup stick and then passed them with another pickup stick

Once you start you are passing one unit to the left under 2 units and twisting with the 3rd unit.  The far right unit was already twisted with its partner.  Stare at my drawing for awhile...the hardest part is the start.

Deb, I think you're going to

Deb, I think you're going to be creating Celtic knotwork before you're finished with this journey.

 yeah, it felt like Celtic

yeah, it felt like Celtic knotwork, the brain buster was starting, you had to make a decision to where to start and ignore the twists to the right of the start.  I ended up deciding to put plain weave on the borders and just doing a simple leno on either side with the areas that I had to discard to start the 3 part twists to deal with the incomplete parts.  I can't wait to get it off the loom and see how it looks after wet finishing and not under tension.  photo to follow....next week!  congrats on your new loom!

I finished my 3 pair pass

I finished my 3 pair pass leno and here is a close up.  This warp was on the loom and it was left over so I went ahead and used it. I don't think I would use this finish with a stripe (as in this warp) since you can see how the twist affects the appearance.  It was also mind bending to start because you have to pick up in the middle of multiple pairs crossing.  This meant you have to be really thoughtful with plain weave or some other type finish on the left or right.  I also used the leno edging to turn the hem.  There is always another warp to experiment with!
