Halloweave

I hope some of these groups persist past Halloween. And don't forget the day of the Dead is actually November 2nd after All Saints Day on the 1st. Traditionally Halloween was just the prelude to All Saints Day.  It is interesting to see changes in traditions because much like languages are living languages (the French don't like the thought) traditions morph, as time goes by ideas and things change it is just the nature of things.  Getting back to my original thought I just hope that Las Catrinas continues, I like Rebozos :)

Halloweave has a beginning and an end.

it is a one month intensive event. The end is Halloween and our celebration is the next day to give us time to tally votes. You can look forward to the next HalloWeave.

Just as time changes traditions, different regions celebrate "El dia de Los muertos" to different degrees and on different days but all around the begining of Nov.

Slipstream, you could always start a rebozo group when Halloweave finishes.

Hmmm, I have no credibility!

I think it would be fun to start a group on Rebozos and perhaps even various indigenous weaving techniques but I am not sure I'm the one to do it.  There are so many here who have so much more experience and credibility than I that I would feel presumptious in attempting start a group.  I appreciate the suggestion, of course if I had a co-moderator...Best regards, Charles

Continuing rebozo group

I am getting a late start due to illness this month, and missed most of all this. I just found this group! I would love to see a continuing group for the rebozo, or maybe a repeat "workshop". I have weaving a rebozo on my list of want-to-do's, and just cruising through this forum this morning has sparked my interest and imagination. I've just started handspinning, too, so maybe I'll spin and dye wool yarn specifically for a special rebozo.
