I'm sitting here cutting texsolve tie-up chords for my new-to-me 60 year old Swiss loom. I came up with a quick way to do it: I got old an old soldering iron, taped my ruller to the counter to do the measuring, and use the soldering iron to cut the texsolv and fuse the ends in one operation. My counter is stone, but you could use the bottom of a frying pan or maybe a cookie sheet if your counters are something that the iron would burn.
That's just brilliant, and probably suitable for a range of other synthetics as well. Thanks for the tip!
What is texsolv running for price these days? I would probably have to purchase from Leclerc as I'm in Canada. Shipping stuff across lines creates a vaccum that plucks additional cash from your wallet and adds significantly to costs. Don't ask me what I think of those leech'n brokers. ;)
Texsolv is more economical if purchased on the 55 yard spool. Usually it is about $1.25 per yard (USD). Camilla Valley Farm is in Canada, you might try there. I have purchased from them before, lovely people.
