Welcome to Weavolution!
Today is the big day! We’ve been working on Weavolution since September 2008. Weavolution is a special website for handweavers and people interested in learning about handweaving. Our goal is to have you become a member and help create an inclusive, global community offering information, resources and inspiration to hand weavers.
As you look around and become acquainted with our website, please remember that this is the beta test. That means that some things are not quite finished and some bugs (not moths!) are still hanging around. We will be working with our development team to fix and improve things.
If you are a hobby weaver or a production weaver, using a peg loom or a floor loom and everything in between, you are welcome here. This is your place to meet others, view weaving projects, gather ideas, discover new resources, hang out in the forums or join a discussion group.
We hope you’ll enjoy your time here. If you find something useful or helpful to your weaving, if you learn something new or meet someone new, we hope you’ll stay and
Join the Weavolution!
This is very exciting! I am happy to be here.
I'm very excited also! I can't believe we're already in Beta. I can't wait for the site to be completely live, so we can all start sharing!
Thanks a million to everyone who made this happen!
Wait until 12:00 EST, then you can start sharing. Beta means that you might run into some unfinished features, but anything you do will be "real".
Sharon
Thanks to Tien, Claudia and Alison together with the development team to get Weavolution started. A world meeting point for weavers! Congratualtions with the launch!
Congratulations on going live and a big Thank You for doing it!
Congratulations on Weavolution!
It's a red-letter (red-thread?) day for weavng!
Congrats! Glad to be here!
So cool! I have been really eager to have a place to talk about all the weaving that obsesses me.
I am really excited about this! Thanks to those who have worked so hard to get weavolution going!!
Thanks for all your hard work getting this site together.
Now it will just take some time for all of us to upload things and make good use of the space.
Looking forward to finding how it all works, :)
Cheers, and many thanks,
Sara

Thank you thank you This is so exciting, I go to ravelry and wish there was weaving there now I can come here and talk my first love weaving. Say will be have a book section like ravelry?? I like that feature! Lois aka fibernut
Thanks Weavolution for filling a void.
Now my weaving's going to get better and better with a more
weavecentric place to learn tips and tricks from other friendly weavers.
I like the red thread day for weaving observation :-)
I'm really jazzed about having weavolution up and running! Congrats to the crew! I think this resource will give a huge boost to the weaving community.

We plan to have a book section eventually, but it may take awhile. There are other features that come first.

I'm really happy to see Weavolution up and running! I used to do inkle and tablet weaving when I was doing historical re-enactments, and recently I've picked up rigid heddle weaving. ... I have a feeling this site will be quite ... enabling :)

What a fantastic beginning! This is exactly what we have all needed -- a place to network and it's so easily accessible. Thank you so much for all the work you have done to create this for the weavers of the world. I can't wait to see how it develops. I hope you are all able to spend some time weaving too!
Great job! Glad that this all came together... and thanks from this weaver for doing the heavy lifting and getting this off the ground.

I am just getting started in the process, have been spinning and want to use some of my yarns for projects. Thanks for your site and congratulations. Just heard about it in my spinning group today, includes some of our new weavers group we are getting started. Excitement reigns.
I never heard of Weavolution until a month ago from a Co-Member of Spindles N Flyers who goes by the name Claudia.
I joined Spindles N Flyers almost 10 years ago. They meet in El Cerrito near Berkely. I also joined The Blacksheep Weaving Guild that meets in Woodland (not far from Redwood City, CA) recently.
Claudia emailed me about Weavolution and sent me the link. I went on the link, liked what I saw and asked to join and here I am.
