There is now a Classes and Workshops forums for everyone to use to enter local classes and workshops to share with the Weavolution community.  We have several active members of the Weavolution community who travel regularly and might enjoy attending a class, workshop or local guild meeting while away from home.  It would be easier to locate the entry if you put the city and state in the title along with the class.

The Events Calendar will continue to list regional events, such as fiber festivals, in theResources section of the website.  If you are attending a regional festival, consider planning a Meetup to connect with other members of Weavolution.  Meetups usually appear in the Chat and/or News forums.

Making plans for 2011...

Looking for a festival with workshops, or a workshop in 2011.  A friend and I are in the planning stages of a trip.  Something like Oregon Fiber Festival for Black Sheep Festival...we enjoy those, they are wonderful, but are wondering what other parts of the country have to offer.  Looking for a 4 day get a way.  Preference toward weaving, but spinning is of interest too (she is a spinner and weaver, I am focusing on weaving, but enjoy spinning...just not very good at it).

Open to suggestions...also wondering if there is a composite list somewhere of all the festivals with workshops, or workshops offered throughout the country for 2011.  Does such a thing exist?

Thanks!

~D

Many of the Events listed in

Many of the Events listed in the Weavolution events calendar here have classes before and during the festivals.  We are working on a new version of the calendar that will have the links all be clickable.  For right now you need to copy them into a separate window.

I love Maryland Sheep and Wool and recommend it highly.  There are classes offered in spinning, weaving and knitting before and during the festival.  And, we are planning a Weavolution Meetup there in May 2011 and you are close to Washington, DC.

Fiber Gatherings

I think I want to attend ALL the festivals!  The book "Fiber Gathering" has information on many of the larger festivals in the US.
