This is a call for entries to the fiber show to be held in the fall of 2012 at the North Carolina Arboretum.
The show has been held in the Asheville area biennially since 1988 and is currently sponsored by the Western North Carolina Fiber/Handweavers Guild. We hung the show at the Arboretum for the first time last year and had great success meeting our goal of exposing the wonderful work of fiber artists to the general public as they came to "leap-peep" in the mountains. An added bonus was doing quite a lot of sales to our thrilled viewers.
There are awards is several categories for weaving, felting and spinning for amateurs and professionals and juniors. We accept all entries but judge to award prizes. Our judge will be Allison Dennis of Allison Dennis Designs.
Entry forms are due Aug 10, 2012 and the show will be hung in late September. You have time to enter those items that may have been in Convergence shows. We'd like to see them at the other end of the country too! And if you have done something wonderful, but never entered a show before, consider doing so now.
