I need a loom for basic rag rug weaving. I need a sturdy loom for aprox. 24" width weaving. I live in a small home so need a small foot print. Is the Glimakra "Julia" sturdy enough for rag rugs?
not sure if the Glimakra "Julia" is sturdy enough. I have a Union 36 that works great. U can find them all over for a good price. They were made to make rag rugs. Mine fits great in a small dinning room. 5 x 5 floor area. Hope this helps.
I have a Julia and I love it but it is not a rug loom. There are some smaller JL Hammett rug looms, possibly a Cambridge. The Glimakra Ideal comes in 27" models. Possibly even Kessenich makes a small rug loom.
Don't know where you are, but I have a Hammett for sale in Vermont. PM me if you're anywhere nearby and interested.
